Proactive Care in Action: What Our Pilot with Sagora Senior Living Is Showing Us

When we talk about the shift from reactive to proactive care, we are talking about tangible outcomes: preventing falls, avoiding hospitalizations, and providing families peace of mind about their loved ones' safety.

Teton's partnership with Sagora Senior Living demonstrates this approach in practice. Since January 2026, the platform has been operational at two Texas facilities: Bristol Park at Cleburne Assisted Living and Memory Care, and Briarview Senior Living in Carrollton.

What the data is telling us

74%

Reduction in monthly fall incidents

95%

Improvement in response time

83%

Reduction in PRN sleep medication

Bristol Park's first month demonstrated remarkable results. One resident case showed an 83% reduction in PRN sleep medication usage, declining from nine administrations weekly to just 1.5. These are not abstract metrics. They represent fewer fractures, reduced emergency visits, and fewer distressing calls to families.

At Briarview, comparable patterns emerged following alert personalization in January, with declining fall incidents and enhanced response times.

How it works, and why privacy comes first

Teton's platform uses ambient monitoring that analyses activity patterns in residents' rooms without relying on personal identifiers or storing any footage. Data is processed locally; images are deleted immediately after analysis. Care teams receive only encrypted behavioral insights on their devices.

This approach resonates with operators like Sagora. "We're always looking at technology that makes care better without making it more complicated," said Chandon Sanders, Corporate Director of Marketing at Sagora. "The data they're showing from other countries is compelling: fewer falls, better sleep, and team members who stay longer."

Changing how care teams operate day to day

Bristol Park staff describe a shift in how they work. Family discussions now rely on objective data rather than anecdotal observations. Team coordination during incidents has strengthened. Prospective residents on facility tours cite the technology as a factor in their decision.

"These tools allow our care team members to focus on spending quality time with our residents," said Michelle Cortez, Senior Resident Services Director at Bristol Park.

The platform also supports automated care documentation, enabling staffing levels to match residents' evolving acuity requirements.

What this means for U.S. operations

The Sagora pilot marks significant progress in Teton's U.S. expansion. Outcomes proven across European care settings are now translating to American communities.

"When care teams have real-time insights into resident patterns, they can prevent incidents before they happen. This is proactive care," said Mikkel Wad Thorsen, CEO.
