AI team

"One of the most exciting things working with AI at Teton, is that to achieve our goals, we need to use state of the art models."

Meet the AI Team

Frederik Warburg

Head of AI

Frederik is the premier AI talent coming out of the Nordics. He holds a PhD at DTU and UC Berkeley, where his contributions to the field of AI have been recognised with numerous awards, including PhD Thesis of the Year (2024).

"I’m incredibly proud of the data engine we’ve built, which automatically surfaces valuable moments and enriches them through a mix of human annotations and large, specialized models."

Kristján Eldjárn

Sr. AI Research Scientist

Kristján holds a Ph.D. in Computing and Mathematical Sciences from Caltech (2023). His research impact spans 20+ high-profile scientific publications and real-world applications, including designing Iceland's pioneering random vaccination strategy, advising the Minister of Health. At Teton he is pushing the boundaries of AI, while optimizing the entire AI pipeline for maximum performance.

"One of the coolest things about this role is the level of agency & agility you get to exhibit. Meaning that you can (and should!) take it upon yourself to build that feature and ship it, and that you can (and should!) start it today."

Thomas Ørkild

Deep Learning Engineer

With deep expertise in 3D computer vision, Thomas operates at the forefront of 3D spatial understanding. His work focuses on core infrastructure and the spatial reasoning of model outputs. He spent two years at 3Shape, where he developed advanced 3D scanning technology. Thomas holds a MS in Human-Centered AI from DTU.

"It’s amazing how quickly we can now pick up an open-source model, understand its capabilities, and distill that into something useful for our customers. That kind of rapid iteration and integration just wasn’t possible a few years ago."

Andreas Grønbech

Computer Vision Engineer

Andreas is a signal processing ninja. Combining classical signal processing with recent advances in AI, allowing him to push the frontiers for remote sleep and respiration monitoring. He holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from DTU, where he researched contactless pulse rate and oxygen saturation monitoring.

"I’m particularly proud of the respiration rate estimation algorithm we developed. Creating a method that helps care professionals identify changes in a patient’s health by tracking nighttime respiration rate is incredible."

Gustav Fjorder

Software Engineer

Gustav is an incredible platform engineer. Leading the development of the Teton Data Platform, that presents, analyses and reveals insights from our Foundational Data Layer. With a background in Computer Science from DTU and Caltech, and several years of experience from Palantir, Gustav combines deep data science expertise with exceptional engineering skills.

"The image models we have developed have become so good that we now truly can collect valuable healthcare data through AI that would have required a team of data analysts."

Serge Belongie

Advisor

Serge is a leading researcher in computer vision and machine learning. He is Professor of Computer Science at the University of Copenhagen and Director of the Pioneer Centre for AI. His research has received +200K citations and several best paper awards, including at CVPR and NeurIPS. Previously, he was Professor and Associate Dean at Cornell Tech, a Visiting Faculty at Google, and co-founded multiple startups. He also serves on the board of ELLIS, shaping the future of AI research in Europe.

"Teton is an innovative standout in Denmark's vibrant startup landscape. I’m excited about the AI-powered, privacy-preserving technology Teton is developing that provides a win-win solution for care professionals and patients."

Questions?

We’re glad you asked...

Do you offer any remote work opportunities?

We believe in the power of collaboration and innovation that comes from having creative and hardworking people working together in person. That's why we operate as an office-first company. However, we also recognize the value of flexibility and acknowledge that certain roles can be effectively performed remotely. We offer remote-friendly opportunities on a case-by-case basis, depending on the specific role and its requirements. We'd love to see you in our office though! It's beautiful.

What are some of the challenges and rewards of working at your company?

At Teton, you'll face the challenge of keeping pace with our rapid growth and tackling complex problems in healthcare. But the rewards are equally substantial.

You'll directly contribute to a technology that supports nurses and improves patient care, work with cutting-edge AI, and have the chance to shape projects and make a real difference. The collaborative and learning-focused environment fosters growth, and the stock option program lets you share in the company's success.

What are some of your milestones and achievements so far?

We’ve been able to grow quickly as a company thanks to the praise and satisfaction of our customers. Our delivery to Næstved Kommune won us the Danish ‘Digitalisation Prize for innovation in the public sector’, where the centre leader described us as being “Probably the best implementation in healthcare I have seen or heard of”.

Satisfied customers, and a constant focus on improving the product, has enabled us to go quickly go from serving a single hospital to serving multiple hospitals and care homes across Denmark and Europe.

NVIDIA and the Novo Nordisk Foundation selected us to be among the first users of Denmark's largest supercomputer, Gefion. This recognition underscores our role as an AI provider to the care sector and enables us to make significant advancements in AI training and innovation.
